The "Range Room" at Cavalcade includes stoves from the 1940's through the 1970's. All ranges are electric (there is one token gas range) as the kitchen studio is only equipped for electric service. Brands include Frigidaire, General Electric, Westinghouse, Norge, Hotpoint, Tappan, Kelvinator, Crosley, Montgomery Ward, ElectroChef, Admiral and Gibson.

Episode #325
When Ralph is in town I need to take full advantage of his help, so I thought it would be a good time for a stove exchange in the Cavalcade kitchen studio. Outgoing was a 1968 General Electric (GE) 30-inch range in avocado green. Taking its place was a 1954 General Electric (GE) Liberator 40-inch range. Luckily for us, we didn't have to move it very far!!
Time was long overdue for a stove exchange in the Cavalcade Kitchen Studio and a visit from friend (and electric fan collector) Todd provided a little extra muscle for Ralph and I to move out the 1954 General Electric Liberator range and bring in the 1954 Westinghouse with the giant oven.
It's always exciting when I welcome a new addition to the family! Here's a vintage range I picked up a couple of weeks ago: a 1953 Westinghouse Rancho Range. These unique electric ranges were intended for small kitchens and modest budgets. It features an 8-inch burner and three 6-inch burners, oven and storage cabinet. It does not have a clock, light or other additional features, but includes an open area next to the oven for a small stool or kitchen cart. A unique stove!
